On August 1, 2013, the Ministry of Education finally authorized the establishment of the undergraduate and Master Program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices was established in 2014.This Bachelor Program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices belongs to college of nursing and health sciences. The bachelor program started in 2014, after recruiting master program students in 2015 with Distinguished Professor Lai Feng-Ming as its first director. In order to adapt this diverse society and industrial demand, the bachelor program for design and materials for medical equipment combines medical equipment of design, Biomaterials and other technologies of related field to cultivate.That's why the Bachelor Program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices is to educate and train top-level professionals and help them develop independent learning capabilities and possess the knowledge of fundamental biology and medicine.

 

The Bachelor Program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices has five full-time faculty members, two adjunct faculty and five jointly appointed faculty members .There are a total of 111 undergraduate students and24 master's degree students.

 

The main mission of the bachelor program is to promote medical equipment of design, assistive technology devices, activities of teaching, research and development in biomedical engineering. With regard to strategic alliance with domestic industry players in central Taiwan, there has been active participation provide employment and training services for students, for example: QS control corp, Chang Hsin Biotech, Kao Duen Technology Corporation and four hospital (Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Changhua Christian Hospital, Show Chwan Hospital, Yuanlin Christian Hospital)

2013.08	Distinguished Professor Lai Feng-Ming was elected as first director of the Bachelor Program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices.
2014.08	Master Program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices was established in 2014 with distinguished Professor Lai Feng-Ming was elected as first director.
2016.02	Appointment of Dr. Liao Shu-Chuan as the project assistant professor of bachelor program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices.
2016.12	Appointment on transfer of Dr. Liao Shu-Chuan as the assistant professor of bachelor program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices.
2018.02	Appointment of Dr. Ou Sin-Liang as the assistant professor of bachelor program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices.
2018.08	Appointment of Dr. Liu, Kai-Che and Dr. Hu Ming-Hsien the project assistant professor of bachelor program for Design and Materials for Medical Equipment and Devices.
